PRIVATE LESSONS

Payment
Our current prices for in-person lessons are:
$60/30 minutes
$85/45 minutes
$110/60 minutes
After 60 minutes, each additional 15 minutes is $20 

Our current prices for online lessons are:
$55/30 minutes
$78/45 minutes
$100/60 minutes
After 60 minutes, each additional 15 minutes is $20 

Buy 15 lessons at a time and recitals are FREE!

Siblings with back-to-back lessons are charged by time, not by each lesson. So two 30-minute lessons with the same teacher will cost $110 total (as opposed to $120).

Teachers confirm the number of lessons during the first week of each month, and a monthly invoice is sent to you soon after (payable by credit card, debit card, or bank transfer). If a lesson is cancelled or added, the difference is made up in the following month.

Invoices are due within 5 days. After 5 days, a $10 late fee will be automatically added to your invoice. After that, an additional $10 will be added every 5 days until the invoice is paid. 

If you’d prefer, you may give us your credit card information and we will bill you each month after confirmation from your teacher.

We are happy to discuss other payment options and schedules. Everything must be agreed upon by your teacher.

Cancellations
Our cancellation policy is, first and foremost, designed to be fair to students and teachers. It is critical that you let us know ASAP about any conflicts or emergencies. If you must cancel after 12 noon the day before a lesson, you must pay for that lesson. We will try our best to schedule a makeup with you within the next two weeks (not counting regular lessons)*. If the lesson is cancelled at the last minute and your teacher is already en route or at your door, we will not be able to schedule a makeup.

*If the missed lesson takes place in a studio (and not in your home), the cost of the studio must be paid regardless of whether a make-up is arranged. An additional studio fee will be necessary if rescheduling is possible.

*Please note that if we don't hear from you, it is assumed that your weekly lesson is still happening, your teacher will show up, and our cancellation policy is still in effect. You must contact your teacher directly if you don't plan to have a lesson.

Recitals
We have two recitals during the school year, one in early February and one before school ends in June. They are incredibly fun and inspirational for the kids, and we've created a wonderful, supportive environment. There is a small fee to make this happen - never more than the cost of a lesson - and it is very important to us that everyone participates. For more information please check out our RECITALS page.

CHOIRS + GROUP LESSONS

Play Music NYC reserves the right to cancel or adjust any class due to low enrollment.

With the exception of trial classes, parents/guardians are not invited to observe classes. If there is a compelling reason for a parent/guardian to be present, please notify us, in advance, so that we can make arrangements to minimize distractions.

Refunds
Classes must be cancelled no later than one week prior to receive a full refund (minus a $50 processing fee). After this point, refunds are not available.

Absences
If your child is going to miss a class or be late, please let us know as soon as possible via phone or email. We appreciate your cooperation.
